Passive Fire Protection at Electrical and Mechanical Service Penetrations

Electrical cables, cable trays, pipes, ducts and mechanical service penetrations are among the most critical risk points through which fire can spread from one compartment to another. Protecting these penetrations with appropriate fire-stopping systems prevents the spread of fire and smoke, ensuring building safety and maintaining the continuity of fire compartmentation.

Fire-stopping boards, mastics, mortars, foams and intumescent products safely seal gaps at cable and pipe penetrations, forming a fire-resistant and smoke-tight barrier.

Advanced Fire-Stopping Systems for Cable, Pipe and Service Penetrations

Modern passive fire protection solutions are designed to accommodate cable and pipe penetrations of different diameters and densities. Intumescent collars, fire-stopping mastics, stone wool boards and fire-resistant mortar systems expand during a fire to close potential gaps and prevent fire from spreading.

These systems can be applied to provide fire resistance of 120 minutes and above in areas such as electrical cable bundles and cable trays, plastic and metal pipe penetrations, mechanical service ducts, shaft walls and technical transit voids, and wall and floor penetrations.
