Fire Blankets

Fire blankets are passive fire safety products used to contain vehicle and battery fires at source, allowing rapid intervention. Draped over the burning vehicle or equipment, they cut the flame off from oxygen, reduce the spread of heat and smoke, and prevent the fire from jumping to surrounding vehicles, racking or structural elements.

Thermal runaway events in electric vehicles and lithium-ion batteries produce fires that are difficult to control with conventional extinguishing methods. In such cases a fire blanket physically encloses the incident, buying critical time until fire crews arrive and narrowing the area of intervention.

They can be used anywhere electric vehicles and batteries are present — enclosed car parks, logistics warehouses, production plants, charging stations, service areas and battery storage rooms. Models in different sizes and resistance levels suit forklifts, passenger cars, buses and battery packs.

Compact storage cases and practical deployment make them easy to integrate into a site's emergency plan. Model selection should follow the size of the vehicle to be protected, the frequency of use and the facility's risk assessment.
